Make up Details of my "Pre and Post Op Plastic Surgery Barbie"

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Today I will be writing about all the products used and how I did my "Pre and Post Op Plastic Surgery Barbie".  Seeing as it was quite a hit, I want to show you guys exactly how I did this look so that maybe you can recreate this look for yourselves since it's Halloween this weekend.  You can choose whichever look you prefer, either the "Pre Op Barbie" or the "Post Op Barbie".  Personally, I would go for the Post Op Barbie since it's more of a gory look and Halloween is the time of the dead!  So you can go as gory as you like because the scarier you are - the better!  However, you can do as you please.  If any of you decide to do this look, please tag me on Instagram or Facebook, as I would love to see everyone's recreations of this look.  My Instagram is: Suzanne1818.

So let's get started!
I am starting off with the "Pre Op Barbie".  It is important that first you look at some pictures as a guide before you start this make up look.  Barbie always has bright pink lips and purple/pink eye shadow.  Also, Barbie is blonde, so for those of you who aren't blonde, I suggest that you buy a wig from Ebay or wherever you find so that you can really look like Barbie.  I am already blonde so this step was irrelevant for me, however once I had bought a blonde, long wig from Ebay and it was perfect and reasonably priced.

Before starting any make up look, I suggest that you prime your face first because a primer helps smooth fine lines and your face would look smoother.  Afterwards, I applied my all time favourite foundation which is the L'Oreal Infallible 24 hour matte in the shade sand.  To remove any redness, pimples and my dark circles under my eyes I used my WJCON liquid concealer in the shade sand.  I prefer liquid concealers as I feel it really has a great coverage.  Barbie has a flawless face so make sure to cover up any spots or blemishes.  To set all of this, I used my Rimmel Stay Matte long lasting pressed powder in the shade warm beige.  It is extremely important to set your foundation with a powder so that your make up will last longer, especially if you're planning on staying out the whole night.  Without applying any powder you would notice that your foundation would come off very easily.  To finish off the face, I contoured my cheek bones and my nose as Barbie has a perfect face so I tried to copy that.  I used my Seventeen Define and Conquer kit which I had bought from Boots in London.  Unfortunately, you would not find this product here in Malta.  The last step is blusher and Barbie has very bright cheeks so I used my NYX blush which is a pink/red colour, which is called Intuition.  I use this blush all the time as I absolutely love it!

For my eyebrows, I really love to fill them in and create the perfect brow shape and for this I used my Eye Brow Shaping powder which I had bought from H&M, funnily enough.  Any pencil or powders will do.  Make sure to fill in your brows and create a defined brow shape just like Barbie's.  Of course, don't forget to conceal under the brow to create a sharp effect!

Next step are the eyes!  For the base, I used my favourite eye shadow from MAC which is called Dazzlelight Velux Pearl.  It is the perfect base colour for any look!  So I really suggest this eye shadow.  Once that was done, I grabbed a pink colour from my Sabas eye palette and applied that on my crease and blended that out. Afterwards I added some purple and blended that with the pink. Also, I applied both colours under my eyes and blended that out nicely.  To recreate Barbie's big eyes, I used a white eye pencil on the waterline as this creates the illusion of bigger eyes.  So basically I had a pink and purple smokey eye.  Keep on blending the colours till you're satisfied, it is very important that you don't have a harsh line of pink or purple, you would have to keep on blending till it looks smooth. Next, I applied my favourite liquid eyeliner from NYX and I did a long thin wing.  Of course, Barbie has beautiful eyelashes so I applied my Kiko mascara first, on the top and bottom lashes and put on my fake lashes which I bought from Balluta Pharmacy and they are 100% human hair.  It is important to apply mascara first so that your lashes would blend in with the fake lashes.  I don't suggest you apply mascara on the fake lashes as this could ruin them.

For the lips, I lined my lips with WJCON 17 shocking pink and applied a liquid lipstick, also from WJCON in the colour shocking pink, since Barbie has full, plump, pink lips! A little trick was that I slightly lined over my lip to create bigger and fuller lips.

The face is now complete!

For the plastic surgery marks, basically I just got my NYX liquid eyeliner and made small lines and arrows around the areas that I wanted for surgery,  I am not a plastic surgeon so I just winged this part.  I did around my eyes, my cheekbones, my nose, forehead, chin, neck, collar bones and my boobs.  You can add as many lines as you wish! This part you can really be creative! And that is all!

The Post Op Barbie was definitely easier as I just smudged all the eyeliner marks with my hand and added red/blue/purple and black eye shadow to create bruises. Those are the main colours if you want that perfect bruise! I did this everywhere where I had the plastic surgery marks and of course I added some of my fake blood to really make this look gory.  I did not touch my eyes as I still wanted to look like Barbie.  Finish off the look with a pretty pink top or a dress and you are ready to go!

Really hope that this was helpful, the pictures are below for a guide to the look.  Please if you have any difficulties or any questions, leave a comment below and I will definitely reply back.  If you didn't understand something or would like to know more about a certain product that I used, feel free to leave a comment.  This was a really fun look and I feel it's just perfect for Halloween, whichever one you choose. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for my next blog which would be another Halloween look but this time not as gory!  You would have to wait and find out what look I am creating in my next blog.

Lots of love - Suzanne P.D
