Halloween Weekend!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!

Today I want to share with all of you some of the make up looks that I did on three really beautiful girls.  Last weekend was my first time applying Halloween make up on others and so I was pretty nervous.  However, I was so pleased with the end result!  I couldn't be happier!  All three clients were also extremely pleased with their looks and this just really boosted my confidence.

So, here is the first make up look that I did on Friday night.

She wanted to be the Mad Hatter and she showed me a photo of the kind of look that she wanted.  The first thing that I did, which I feel is extremely important to do, was that I researched and stayed looking at different photos of the Mad Hatter.  I really studied the photos and made sure that I knew exactly what I was going to do.  In different parts of the movie, Johnny Depp (as played as the Mad Hatter), had some different make up looks.  For example, in one scene he had red eye shadow instead of pink and sometimes he had purple instead.  Just to make sure, I spoke to the client and asked her what she preferred and she wanted to go for the pink eye shadow.  This was the main look that Johnny Depp had all throughout the movie, so we both went for the more realistic idea.  And the photo above was the finished look!

My next client was Saturday afternoon and she wanted to be Harley Quinn from the Arkham Series.  There are two different looks of Harley Quinn and of course I asked the client for the exact look that she was after.  She wanted the look from the Arkham Series, which is more of a dark and edgy look, with the under eyes all smudged.  I really tried to make the look as realistic as possible and I really tried to copy the exact look that Harley Quinn has and I do feel that I managed to do this.

My last client was Saturday late afternoon.  She wanted to be the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.  The most important part of this make up look is definitely the smile, as that's the signature of the Cheshire cat.  As I was looking at different photos, the main colour used was purple and so I did a purple smokey eye.  The main focus was the smile and I really tried my best to make it as realistic as possible.  She completed the look with some awesome contacts.

As you all can notice, research is definitely really important so that you know exactly what you're doing.  It is not professional at all if you have no clue what you're going to do.  The main focus is the client and you want the client to be as satisfied as possible.  I was so happy with all three make up looks, I worked really hard and put all my effort into making these looks.

Lastly, I had to do make up on myself!  After quite a busy afternoon, I had to rush home and quickly apply my make up for a party that I had at my friends house.  I was a SAW Victim.  I really loved all seven movies of SAW and that inspired me for my look.  Jigsaw (the main character), marked all his victims with the Jigsaw puzzle mark and so I made a big Jigsaw mark on my head.  I did a fierce black smokey eye using the dark black eye shadow from my NYX eye palette.  I wanted a dark look, so I applied a beautiful dark purple lipstick which is from Rimmel and it's called Dark Knight in the number 380.  Since I was a victim, I had to have some sort of scar or wound and so using liquid latex, I created a gory slit on my neck, so it looked like he slit my throat.

Halloween is my favourite time of the year!!!  Can't believe that it's already over.  Last weekend was definitely one of the best weekends I had, as I loved doing the make up looks on those three girls and of course on myself.  As you all  know, I love gory make up looks and I had so much fun showing all of you my different kinds of looks.  Really hope that this blog helped some of you.  Finally, I'm going to start writing new posts regarding Glam make up looks.  I shall be writing a new post about this black smokey eye that I have in the picture.  For now, goodbye gore!

Really hope that you guys liked the make up looks that I did and if you ever want your make up done, feel free to ask me on Facebook, or email me or leave a comment below.  Hope you guys had a fantastic Halloween weekend and hope you have a great week :)

Lots of love - Suzanne P.D.
